Hockenheim DTM: Edoardo Mortara fastest for Audi again
Edoardo Mortara stayed on top in DTM practice at Hockenheim, leading an Audi one-two in the final session before Saturday qualifying
The Italian set the pace during Friday's wet running and while conditions improved significantly overnight, the result didn't change in the dry.
Mortara moved to the top with four minutes remaining and his 1m32.672s lap was 0.102 seconds clear of stablemate Jamie Green as Audis filled six of the top nine positions.
Rookie Tom Blomqvist was the best of the BMWs, third and just 0.024s shy of Green, while Timo Scheider and Mattias Ekstrom completed the top five ahead of reigning champion Marco Wittmann.
It was a quiet session for Mercedes, with Pascal Wehrlein the leading C-Coupe after jumping up to eighth in the final minutes.
Paul di Resta was 11th and Daniel Juncadella 13th, but the other five Mercedes drivers were in the bottom third of the order.
A fuel pressure problem restricted Robert Wickens to six laps, and he ended the session at the foot of the times.
Timo Glock had the biggest moment of the 45-minute session, a lurid, 360-degree spin exiting Turn 1 on his way to 22nd.
