World Rallycross appearances for JRM's ex-Prodrive Mini in 2015

Sportscar squad JRM Racing has confirmed its Prodrive-built Mini Clubman RXs will appear in the World Rallycross Championship this year, while World RX organisers have announced a list of eight full-time teams

JRM expanded into rallycross late last year when it purchased Prodrive's entire Mini RX programme, which was based on the World Rally Championship Mini that first appeared in 2011.

With former Prodrive engineer Paul Eastman overseeing the technical department, JRM will contest selected World RX events, and is planning to run several different drivers in the campaign.

"We've studied the development and growth of World RX closely since the series was launched in 2014 and we believe it has a very exciting future," JRM's James Rumsey said.

"We want to be winning races in World RX but we recognise that it will take some time to achieve that goal.

"By treating the 2015 season as a development year, we will have a great opportunity to learn about all of the elements that are required to be successful in World RX.

"In 2016, we intend to run a full season and challenge for world championships."

WORLD RX TEAMS ANNOUNCED

The number of permanent teams competing in World RX has increased from six to eight in 2015, along with two drivers entered as individual entries.

RX Team Austria, EKS RX and Volkswagen squads Marklund and VW Team Sweden have already announced their driver line-ups, while Petter Solberg will once again lead his own team.

European Champion Robin Larsson recently announced his graduation to World Championship level as an individual entry driving an Audi A1.

In total, 18 drivers will contest the full season, with the entire line-up expected before the championship's media day on April 13.
