Jerez F1 test: Daniil Kvyat sure Red Bull-Renault will fix problems

Renault's Jerez running was compromised by reliability concerns relating to a small part in its ERS water pump.

The problem was discovered too late for a proper fix to be in place this week, but Renault says it will be sorted for the next test, which starts at Barcelona on February 19.

Kvyat said that he fully trusted Renault and Red Bull to find a suitable fix so that performance can be stepped up next time out.

"Problems are always problems, and you just have to sort them out," he said when asked by AUTOSPORT about the Jerez issues.

"It is not something I can fix personally.

"Everyone is supporting each other. I personally trust in Renault, I trust in Red Bull Racing and we will hopefully make a good use of it.

"In the next days there will be a lot of analysis going on.

"We will always try to make improvement of course - it is not easy to cut the deficit to zero in one clap of hands.

"So we just have to keep working hard. Only hard work, step by step, and only patience will bring us what we desire."

Kvyat said that he was encouraged by being able to put in some decent mileage on the final day of the test.

His first day of running had been wrecked by an off that left him without a front wing as he had damaged the only assembly Red Bull had at the track.

"It has been very productive overall for us," he said.

"Every lap counts, every lap is important and [the final day] was one of the most productive days of this test.

"At Barcelona we know where we want to be; where we need to be and we will keep our progress on."
