Macau WTCC: Citroen's Jose Maria Lopez dominates second practice
Newly crowned World Touring Car champion and Macau debutant Jose Maria Lopez led the way in free practice two in Macau on Friday morning
The Argentinean indicated that a lack of experience on the Guia circuit would not be an obstacle to a strong weekend, after his fastest time of 2m26.060s eclipsed fellow factory Citroen racer Ma Qing Hua by 1.140 seconds.
Quickest on Thursday, Gabriele Tarquini again claimed leading Honda honours by taking third place, shading factory JAS team-mate Tiago Monteiro.
Sebastien Loeb, who gained valuable knowledge of the 3.8 mile circuit at the wheel of a Porsche last year, adopted a slightly different technique through the Melco hairpin compared to his rivals early in the session with some exuberant power slides.
Loeb secured fifth ahead of Thursday testing pacesetter and 2010 Macau winner Norbert Michelisz.
Hong Kong driver Henry Kwong was the first competitor to fall foul of the demanding Guia track.
The Campos SEAT Leon TC2 ran out of road at Lisboa, impacting the tyre barrier just five minutes into the half-hour session.
Series returnee Pepe Oriola caused the only stoppage of the morning. The Spaniard, who impressed substituting for the injured Dusan Borkovic on Thursday, clipped the left-hand wall at the Esses.
Tyre marks indicated the Campos Cruze rebounded across the road, scraping the right-side of the car, before coming to a halt at Paiol.
