Sauber F1 boss insists driver situation clear despite Sutil hints

Sauber insists that there is no question over its 2015 line-up, despite Adrian Sutil's hints that his situation needs clarifying

Sutil was believed to have a multi-year contract when he joined the Swiss outfit for the start of this year.

However, the team announced on Wednesday that it would be taking Felipe Nasr alongside Marcus Ericsson for next season.

Sutil has demanded talks with his bosses to clear up the situation, but Sauber team principal Monisha Kaltenborn says that matters are clear.

"We have announced our two drivers," she said. "I'm not aware next year more than two cars will be used.

"We've announced our drivers, and that's how it's going to be."

When asked if Sutil had a contract: "As I've said, we've announced our drivers.

"If there are any other points related to it, these are internal matters we could only discuss internally.

"I am very clearly aware of my situation and I know what I'm doing. We've announced our drivers and anything else we will sort out internally."

Kaltenborn also said she was surprised by Sutil's comments that, despite announcing Nasr and Ericsson, they may not actually race.

"I don't know why he said that," she said. "You'd have to ask him that. The views I have I will tell him."

SIROTKIN DEAL NOT TO BE EXTENDED

Kaltenborn also said that she did not expect the team's deal with Sergey Sirotkin to continue, after an original intention to prepare him for an F1 race seat.

"I don't expect that to go on next year," she said. "This has a lot to do with his situation, but I don't expect that to go on."
