Oriola replaces injured Borkovic at Campos for Macau WTCC finale
World Touring Car Championship race winner Pepe Oriola will replace the injured Dusan Borkovic in Campos Racing's RML Chevrolet Cruze in Macau
Serbian Borkovic, who finished runner-up at the most recent race at Suzuka, has stood down after complaining of a deteriorating hand condition, inflicted during an accident at the Beijing Goldenport circuit in early October.
"I didn't have enough time to deal with it and it got worse in Japan," said Borkovic.
"After Suzuka it swelled up and it hurt a lot. There is no need to risk an even greater injury, therefore after consulting a doctor and my team I decided not to compete in Macau.
"It was a hard decision, especially after taking second place in Japan, but I know it's for the best."
Oriola has been on the sidelines this season, but planned to make his maiden WTCC outing of the year at Macau's final round in a Campos TC2 SEAT Leon.
Campos will now run a trio of SEAT Leons for regular 2014 driver John Filippi and Hong Kong drivers William Lok and Henry Kwong, who raced for the Spanish team at Shanghai and Suzuka respectively.
Spaniard Oriola finished second in last year's reversed-grid race in Macau from 12th on the grid.
"I am very motivated," Oriola. "Although I am not in the same conditions as the others who have raced for the whole season, my goal is to achieve a good result.
"I wish to thank Campos Racing for offering me this opportunity that I hope to exploit in the best way."
