Dover NASCAR: Brad Keselowski claims commanding pole
Brad Keselowski took a dominant NASCAR Sprint Cup pole as records were broken in qualifying for Sunday's Dover International Speedway round
The Penske Ford driver was the first to set a time in the final shootout and it proved to be the fastest of all, as his 21.892-second lap claimed pole by almost a tenth of a second.
Joe Gibbs Racing's Kyle Busch took second with three minutes remaining, while Joey Logano made it two Penske cars in the top three with third place.
Eight-time winner of the event Jimmie Johnson will line up fourth and top Chevrolet, with his points-leading Hendrick team-mate Jeff Gordon in seventh behind top rookie Kyle Larson and Denny Hamlin.
In a frenetic first session, the fastest 24 drivers all broke the previous track record.
Several top drivers missed out on making the final cut though, with Matt Kenseth, Carl Edwards and Dale Earnhardt Jr all failing to set quick enough times.
The weather proved to be a crucial factor as racers attempted to set their best lap times when the cloud cover was at its greatest.
