Patrick Carpentier to enter home World Rallycross event in Canada

Former CART Series frontrunner Patrick Carpentier will contest his home event of the World Rallycross Championship at Trois-Rivieres in August

The Canadian has five CART race wins to his name and is also a two-time winner of the famous Trois-Rivieres Grand Prix.

"When I heard that Trois-Rivieres would host a round of World RX, I immediately wanted to be a part of it," said Carpentier.

"I have always loved dirt racing, and the last time I raced here [in 1996], we had a double header and won both events on the same weekend."

The 42-year-old will drive a Marklund Motorsport VW Polo RX alongside regular drivers Toomas Heikkinen and Anton Marklund.
