LM24 H17: Tom Kristensen on course for record ninth victory

Audi's Tom Kristensen remains on course for a record ninth Le Mans 24 Hours with 17 hours of the 2013 race gone

The Dane, who has won the race more times than anybody else, but has not claimed victory since 2008, is now comfortably more than a lap ahead of the field in his #2 R18 e-tron quattro.

Stephane Sarrazin and Alex Wurz are still second and third in their Toyotas with Lucas di Grassi losing time in his chase of the #7 TS030 HYBRID when he overshot his pit box during a stop and had to be pushed back.

The ultra-close battle between the OAK Racing Morgan-Nissans for LMP2 victory continued; Bertrand Baguette's #35 machine only slightly increasing its advantage over the #24 machine - now with David Heinemeier Hansson at the wheel - to 24s.

Jann Mardenborough continues to hold third in Greaves Motorsport's #42 Zytek-Nissan, despite the best efforts of Mike Conway - 50s behind - to bring his #26 G-Drive/Delta-ADR ORECA-Nissan back into contention, having led the class early on.

Mardenborough's Greaves team-mate Tom Kimber-Smith dropped to 15th in class after spending time in the pits for a second burst of major suspension repairs.

The TDS ORECA, seven in the classification, was in the garage as the hour ticked over; a nose change necessary to Maxime Martin's car.

Richard Lietz has pegged his #92 Porsche's deficit to GTE Pro leader Bruno Senna's #99 Aston Martin at 39s, the Austrian losing nothing in the past hour.

Christophe Bourret has taken over the GTE Am-leading #76 Imsa Porsche but is lapping over 10s slower than Lorenzo Case in the #55 AF Corse Ferrari.
