Felix Rosenqvist commits to Formula 3 Masters at Zandvoort

Felix RosenqvistFelix Rosenqvist has committed to taking part in the Masters of Formula 3 at Zandvoort, putting an end to speculation that he would miss the event.

The Mucke Motorsport driver currently lies second in the European championship behind Raffaele Marciello, having won all three races at the recent Spielberg round.

Marciello is not competing at the Masters, his Prema Powerteam drive instead being taken by Brit Emil Bernstorff.

But Rosenqvist, who won the race in 2011, is still adamant that victory will not be easy.

"It feels great to be back on the Masters grid again this year," said Rosenqvist.

"My 2011 win remains one of my fondest memories, and - considering our recent form in the European championship - we have reason to be optimistic about our chances.

"Still, I am absolutely convinced that this will mark a real challenge for us.

"We will be racing on different tyres to those we use during the rest of the season, and that has a very significant impact on the car.

"But we gathered plenty of data last year, and that will hopefully allow us to field a strong package and fight for the win."

Rosenqvist is set to be partnered by his regular Mucke team-mates Michael Lewis and Roy Nissany, although Mitch Gilbert's participation in the event is still in doubt.

The only other high-profile absentees from the European championship are likely to be Carlin's Daniil Kvyat, who will be on GP3 duty in Germany that weekend, and URD driver Lucas Wolf, who is not competing for budgetary reasons.
