Canadian GP: Lewis Hamilton fears struggle will continue in Montreal

The Mercedes driver has seen team-mate Nico Rosberg start from pole position in the last three Formula 1 races, the German also taking a dominant victory in the Monaco Grand Prix.

Hamilton admitted he had to get his act together to be able to match Rosberg.

The Briton has struggled with the handling of his car under braking, something he reckons will hurt him in Montreal - a track where he has won three times - if he does not sort it out.

"It's all in the braking," said Hamilton about his problems with the Mercedes. "It's just my feeling in the car. I'm confident in the car. The car is great, as Nico proved. You just have to feel at one with the car and I'm definitely not feeling it.

"This track is all about late-braking, and I've always been the latest of brakers, which is why I've been successful here. I've not been a very late braker all year, so it won't do me too well here."

Can Mr Montreal do it again?

Hamilton took his maiden grand prix win in Canada in 2007, the first of his three victories in Montreal. He has also started from pole three times in five races and has never been outqualified by a team-mate at the track.

"I've always been strong here in a car that I felt confident in. I have a car now that I don't really feel comfortable in, while it's a great car," said Hamilton.

"I can't say that I've just clicked like that. I hope I get in the car and I feel better this weekend.

"I hope I can take a lot of positives from this weekend. I come here massively determined to regain everyone's confidence in me."
