Sebastien Ogier says Monaco Porsche race chance a dream

Ogier starts his first race in a 911 14th on the grid, but the Frenchman says just being at the meeting is more than he ever expected.

"I used to come here to watch practice on a Thursday with my dad," said Ogier, "it was too expensive to come during the race. But now my dad will come on Sunday to watch me.

"It's like a dream come true to race around these streets. If somebody had told me this was going to happen a few years ago, I would have said: 'Yeah, dream on..."

Born and brought up in Gap, Ogier is familiar with Monaco from both the WRC round and the grand prix - he has twice worked at the track as a fire marshal on the race weekend.

But on Sunday morning he will be racing and he starts two places ahead of arch rally rival Loeb.

"It would be nice to be the first rally driver home," he said, "but I'm just looking forward to the race. I don't have so much experience, I tested the car for half a day at Hockenheim two weeks ago and this is only my second race."

Despite his limited experience of the car and circuit, Ogier is aiming for a top-10 finish.

"I only did one practice start in this car," he said, "so the start will be really important.

"The top 10 would be good. I had no target, really - there are a lot of specialists here and it's hard to come and fight with them. I think I can still gain some pace during the race. We have to see what happens."

Loeb's qualifying run in his second Supercup race of the season was spoiled by traffic.

"I was almost in despair," said the nine-time world champion. "I didn't get one free lap. At one point I was on the way to a new fastest time, but suddenly two cars stood in the middle of the track."
