TDS recalls Mathias Beche for European Le Mans Series

The European Le Mans Series-winning TDS Racing team has brought back Mathias Beche for the remainder of its championship defence

The Swiss driver will renew his partnership with 2011-12 team-mate Pierre Thiriet in the French team's ORECA-Nissan 03 LMP2 for the remaining four races of the season, starting this weekend at Imola.

Beche replaces former GT1 World Championshipo driver Jonathan Hirschi, who finished third with Thiriet in the Silverstone season opener last month.

Team boss Xavier Combet said: "We want to built a good line-up for the rest of the season. Jonathan was not as fast as we expected, so we are happy to bring back Mathias for the rest of the season."

TDS has also confirmed that BMW factory driver Maxime Martin will join the team for Le Mans when Beche is on duty with the Rebellion Racing Lola-Toyota LMP1 squad.

"It is a dream to work with someone like Maxime," said Combet. "We had to ask for the permission of BMW, but they went away and did some research about TDS and came back to us very quickly."

Thiriet and Martin will be joined at Le Mans by Ludovic Badey, who races a BMW Z4 in the Blancpain Endurance Series for TDS.

Hirschi has moved over to the HVM Status GP squad for Imola. The Swiss has been confirmed for the Italian race along with Canadian Tony Burgess in the team's Lola-Judd/BMW B12/80.

OAK Racing World Endurance Championship driver David Heinemeier Hansson will race Greaves Motorsport's Zytek-Nissan Z11SN alongside Tom Kimber-Smith at Imola.

Porsche factory drivers Nick Tandy and Wolf Henzler are unavailable for Imola because they are racing at the Nurburgring 24 Hours.

They will be replaced in the Proton Competition and IMSA Performance Porsche 911 GT3-RSRs by Paolo Ruberti and Patrick Long respectively.
