Sebastian Vettel has 'no idea' where Red Bull stands in F1 2013

Vettel had described testing as incredibly inconclusive due to both the closeness of the field and the difficulty with tyres.

He said that left him both puzzled and excited to get some answers.

"I'm especially happy to start this year because we want to find out where we are," Vettel said.

"I think we have no idea at this stage - and I don't believe there is anybody who really has an idea, so it's good to finally find out."

At the end of winter testing, Vettel had admitted that Red Bull had not been able to complete its full programme. He reckons the team is now as prepared as it can be.

"We did a lot of work back at the factory and we've arrived with what we think is best," he said. "Tomorrow we'll find out if we have gone in the right direction.

"It's clear where we want to be. We know that it's going to be difficult as it will be very tight.

"But at this stage we don't really know where we are because we don't know where the others are."

Despite beginning 2013 with three consecutive F1 titles under his belt, Vettel insisted past successes gave him no reason to feel any more confident about this campaign.

"The first title was very, very special as after that you don't have that pressure any more because you proved to yourself more than anyone else that you can do it," he said.

"After that we had two fantastic years again, very different to each other, but we don't really think about what happened last year or the last three years.

"We have zero points on our side at the moment. Everyone has same opportunities."
