Daniil Move eyes top-five finish in FR3.5 with Comtec
Daniil Move is determined to finish in the top five the Formula Renault 3.5 standings after committing to a seventh season in the category with Comtec
Move, 27, made his debut in FR3.5 back in 2007 and holds a record number of 90 race starts.
He drove for Interwetten, KTR, Lotus Junior and, most recently, P1, scoring five podiums in total.
The Russian is adamant he will do much better than his career-best 10th in the championship (in 2009 and '11) this season.
"Of course, there are a lot of factors that affect your final results," Move told AUTOSPORT.com.ru. "But anyway we saw no point in starting the new campaign to finish outside the top five. I will hardly be happy with either sixth or 16th place.
"The level of the field in FR3.5 is as high as it was in 2012, but we share the same priorities with the team. I'm well aware that we will have a hard battle in 2013, I'm ready for it and looking forward to the season."
Move also defended his decision to stay in FR3.5 for so long.
"I went to Europe with very limited experience and started straight away in the FR3.5 class," he said. "You could compare this step with entering postgraduate studies just after leaving nursery school.
"When other drivers moved step by step from lower formulas, I had to learn a lot of things in WSR and it took time."
Brazilian Lucas Foresti will drive alongside Move at Comtec.
