Bruno Senna looking to expand racing programme for 2013

Bruno Senna wants to add more races to his existing 2013 World Endurance Championship programme with Aston Martin

The former Williams Formula 1 driver signed to race one of the team's two Vantage GTEs in this year's WEC, including the 2013 Le Mans 24 Hours, in early February.

With eight races scheduled for the forthcoming season, Senna said he wanted to avoid being 'lazy' and was actively searching for additional drives this year, particularly in the US.

"I want to broaden my horizons, to diversify my driving activities and my portfolio," Senna told AUTOSPORT.

"Racing just once a month is a bit lazy, so I'm looking for some more opportunities.

"We've been looking in the States; I'd like to do some races out there."

Senna added that his main motivation in switching to sportscars was to win again, although he insists he is not underestimating the standard of the GTE Pro class.

"I'm not one of those drivers who ignores what's going on outside F1," he said.

"I knew the GTE class is very competitive and that it has a very high level of driver. That's why I was so excited about this opportunity.

"It would be awesome to be champion, which is something I've never achieved.

"That's my goal: win races and championships, and to have a nice long career."
