Weather hinders Marc Marquez again during Sepang test

Moto2 champion Marc Marquez's attempts to get up to speed on his Honda MotoGP bike continued to be frustrated by poor weather in Malaysia on Monday

Marquez only managed a brief spell of dry running in the official post-Valencia test earlier this November.

He moved on to Sepang for a three-day test this week, but was limited to 26 laps in the dry on day one. Having waited until early rain cleared, he only had chance for four runs before more rain arrived.

"At the moment the weather is definitely not our friend," said Marquez.

"This morning the circuit was wet and we waited until 11:00 to go out on track. After only four exits it began to rain again and the day was over for us."

Marquez still felt he made some progress during his limited running.

"The grip level was very low and at the beginning it was quite difficult to find any grip at all," he said.

"However, I am happy because I have been able to improve my laptime each time I went out, even though I remained on the same tyres."

The Spaniard's best time was a 2m03.650s, three seconds off this year's Malaysian Grand Prix pole time.

Gresini Honda's Alvaro Bautista, who was also present, managed a 2m02.190s lap. Honda test riders Kousuke Akiyoshi and Takumi Takahashi completed the test line-up.
