DTM submits final 10-race 2013 calendar to FIA

DTM organisers have submitted a final 10-race calendar for the 2013 German touring car championship to the FIA

Organisers confirmed the series will, as previously planned, make its debut in Russia at the Moscow Raceway in August.

In addition the DTM will also travel to Brands Hatch in the UK, Austria's Red Bull Ring and Zandvoort in the Netherlands.

Valencia, which hosted the penultimate round of the series this year, will however be absent from the calendar in 2013.

Although the provisional schedule revealed last month included 11 events, the final version has the same amount of races as the 2012 season.

"We are going to offer our fans an even more compact package, in 2013," said Hans Werner Aufrecht, Chairman of DTM rights holder and promoter ITR.

"From early May to mid-September, DTM will be racing nearly every second weekend and provide the spectators top-class motor sport.

"In the course of the internationalisation, we are looking forward to the new and extremely attractive market in Russia - [which] is so attractive that we even were ready to forego the round in Spain for this race.

"But we'd like to thank our partners in Valencia for the good cooperation in the past years."

2013 DTM calendar:

5th May Hockenheimring (D)
19th May Brands Hatch (GB)
