Formula 3 champion Daniel Juncadella completes Ferrari F1 test

Formula 3 Euro Series and European F3 champion Daniel Juncadella completed his Formula 1 test with Ferrari at the Vallelunga circuit on Friday

The Spaniard earned the outing after winning the FIA's new European F3 crown this year.

Juncadella drove Ferrari's 2009 single seater, the F60, and completed six runs of eight laps each at the dry, but foggy Italian circuit.

His fastest lap of the day was a 1m18.560s using Pirelli's soft tyres.

"It has been an incredible experience. To debut in Formula 1 and with Ferrari is more than a dream come true," said Juncadella. "I felt very comfortable right from the start. As I expected, the most impressive things are the brakes.

"One of the things I enjoyed the most was the experience of being able to try some things freely, like changing the differential settings for corner entry and exit. I liked feeling the difference. Another great thing is to have 15 mechanics working with you, because in F3 we are used to working with two. That makes you realise where you are."

The 20-year-old will return to F3 action later this month to defend his crown in the Macau Grand Prix.

"Without a doubt, this has been a fascinating experience that I will never forget, but now I want to think about Macau," he added. "I'm the reigning champion and I would love to put the icing on the cake on a dream season in which I have won all that could be won in Formula 3."

Riccardo Agostini and Eddie Cheever, son of ex-F1 and IndyCar racer Eddie Cheever Jr, also had runs in the 2009 Ferrari at Vallelunga as their prizes for finishing first and second in Italian F3.
