Sebastian Vettel rubbishes speculation linking him to Ferrari

The reigning world champion has been the subject of repeated rumours claiming he has already agreed some form of deal with Ferrari.

Speaking after his latest victory in the Indian Grand Prix, Vettel said it was important he dispelled the Ferrari rumours because of the potentially destabilising impact they could have on Red Bull team members.

"If there's - sorry to say - some bullshit in the press, obviously there might be some concerns back in the factory," he said.

"But I'm 100 percent behind them as I feel they're 100 percent behind me and therefore I want to get this straight: there's nothing to report and I'm very happy at Red Bull Racing."

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner welcomed Vettel's statement. And he made it clear that the team is hopeful of the German staying even beyond his current deal which runs until the end of 2014.

"Seb and the team have a very strong relationship," Horner explained. "We both know exactly where we stand now and for the future.

"Sebastian has been with Red Bull since he was 12 or 13 years of age. He has achieved all his grand prix victories in Red Bull-designed cars, and he is very happy of being part of this team.

"He is an important part of this team and hopefully that will continue for many years to come."

When asked whether he expected Vettel to sign a new deal in the future, Horner said: "I cannot think of any driver that would not want a contract with Red Bull at the moment."
