Daniel Juncadella gets Ferrari prize test at Vallelunga

New European Formula 3 champion Daniel Juncadella will make his Formula 1 test debut for Ferrari at Vallelunga next month

The 20-year-old Spaniard is scheduled to drive for the legendary Italian team on November 9 as his prize for wrapping up the title at Hockenheim last weekend.

He said that although he does not expect it to lead to anything serious, he is nevertheless itching to get behind the wheel.

"It's what every young racing driver wants to do from the very first part of your career," he told AUTOSPORT. "It's a dream come true for me.

"From the time I saw the prize was announced at the start of the year, it was something I really wanted to win."

Juncadella, who also secured tests in Formula 2, Formula Renault 3.5 and DTM machinery as a result of his European and concurrent Euro Series titles, has confirmed that he will test for Rapax at the GP2 test later this month.

"I'm very excited to be able to take part in the GP2 test," he added."I think it's a very powerful car with which I will be able to prepare well for future events in my career.

"Fortunately this is my home circuit and I know it very well, so I will be able to focus on learning about the car as much as possible."
