Vallelunga Superstars: Johan Kristoffersson completes double win

The KMS Audi driver was forced to start from eighth on the grid courtesy of his race one win on Sunday morning.

But it was barely a handicap, the four-wheel-drive RS5 providing enough grip for Kristoffersson to rocket his way into fourth on just the opening lap.

From there, he carefully picked off the remaining competitors to make his way to the lead.

The only scary moment came when he ran wide trying to passing Tonio Liuzzi into Tornantino, but he quickly recovered, and by eight laps in he was in the lead and in control.

Giovanni Berton finished second for Dinamic BMW, a sensational result given that this was his debut weekend in the category. He even led the first part of the race, only to be overhauled by the far superior Audi.

Max Mugelli made it two Dinamic BMWs in the top three after holding off the Audis of Thomas Schoffler (MTM) and Gianni Morbidelli (Audi Sport Italia).

Thomas Biagi looked as if he was going to split the RS5s in his Dinamic BMW entry, but a late lock-up let Morbidelli through.

Liuzzi could manage just seventh in the CAAL Racing Mercedes, having run third for much of the race.

After being passed by Mugelli with just a handful of laps to run, Liuzzi seemed to run out of grip and quickly fall backwards.

He was, however, able to hold off Giancarlo Fisichella, who had an action packed run backwards from pole to eighth, which included crashing into Camilo Zurcher (Romeo Ferraris Mercedes) on the first lap.
