Japanese GP: Bruno Senna says set-up has to overcome Williams DRS

The Grove-based squad's DRS has struggled to match the performances of its main rivals this year, and the device is expected to play a big role at Suzuka this weekend.

Senna believes the track layout should suit the Williams, but he fears that other teams will have an advantage thanks to better use of DRS.

"It's hard to say exactly where we are going to be. It's a track where the car should be competitive. The question here is the DRS," said Senna on Thursday.

"The DRS has a very big effect and the team with a big DRS effect can have an advantage. So we are going to have to push very hard.

"We are going to try different bits in the car for development purposes and hopefully we can have an answer if these things work for the future.

"In the beginning of the season we were far behind in terms of the DRS effect and teams like Mercedes, Force India and Sauber have very strong DRS. Also Lotus has a new double-DRS and I guess they are going to try it here again."

"So these things are always on the horizon and we have to chase after them, but there are other parameters of performance that you need to push and hopefully we are going to nail those."

The Brazilian, who remains in the dark about his future, insisted he is focusing on doing the best possible job in the remaining races in order to show he deserves to have a seat in 2013

"You ask me this question too much. Nothing has changed. We are focusing race by race. For me that is very important and even though we had some strong races in the last few races the points haven't been quite that strong.

"So again, I need to focus on getting the right position in qualifying and scoring some big points would be enough to prove to everybody that I should be around next year."
