FIA confirms 2013 Formula 1 calendar

The FIA has confirmed the 2013 Formula 1 calendar, with only minor tweaks to the provisional version that was leaked over the Singapore Grand Prix weekend

The season will start in Australia on March 17 and conclude in Brazil on November 24.

The only revisions to the draft calendar distributed to teams in Singapore is that the Korean and Japanese Grands Prix have been switched around, Germany has been moved forward a week to July 14 and the Belgian Grand Prix has been moved to August 25.

The New Jersey race that is scheduled to take place on June 16 remains provisional, subject to a contract being sorted out between organisers and Bernie Ecclestone.

New Concorde Agreement next month

The FIA also announced that it hoped to sign off a new Concorde Agreement with Bernie Ecclestone and the teams next month.

A statement issued by the governing body said: "The FIA President confirmed that positive and constructive discussions continue with regard to the new Concorde Agreement and it is anticipated a contract will be signed by the end of October."

The WMSC also approved the 2013 sporting and technical regulations that had been published on Thursday following sign off by the Technical Working Group in a fax vote.
