Aragon MotoGP: Jorge Lorenzo not taking title lead for granted

Jorge Lorenzo says he is taking nothing for granted this year despite his comfortable lead in the MotoGP standings

The Spaniard is leading Honda rival Dani Pedrosa by 38 points with five races to go, including this weekend's event at Aragon.

Yamaha rider Lorenzo's chances were boosted in the previous race, where he took a commanding victory as Pedrosa failed to score.

"For sure the situation for us is much better than it was before Misano, but there is still a long way to go and a lot of pressure for us," Lorenzo said in a press conference on Thursday.

"So we'll just wait for tomorrow to start the weekend and just concentrate on every practice and every race until the end.

"I don't like to think about the points or the mathematics. I prefer to enjoy riding and try to be as fast as I can be in every situation."

Lorenzo is yet to win at Aragon in MotoGP, but the former world champion is much more optimistic about his chances this year.

"It's an interesting track. It's quite new so we don't have much information. We don't have any victories here. Last year was the first podium but we are going to try to change this dynamic this year. With the 1000c we've set more competitive times than with the 800, so we are much more excited to race here."
