Nico Rosberg: More to come from upgraded Mercedes

Nico Rosberg is convinced there is more to come from his Mercedes team's upgrades following a promising showing during the Singapore Grand Prix

The German squad introduced a new 'Coanda-effect' exhaust system for the Marina Bay race, and Rosberg scored his best result since the Monaco Grand Prix with a fifth-place finish in the race.

The Mercedes driver said, however, that the team has yet to fully exploit the updates.

"It's a very complicated development that we are doing with the aerodynamics," Rosberg said in his post-race video blog. "It's very difficult to get the air in the right direction and we've found out now that it's going to take a while to really optimise it.

"Of course it already benefited us this weekend, but it's going to take some time in the next days and weeks to really get the most out of it.

"So I'm quite optimistic that we can really extract a lot of potential out of it. The others are already a bit advanced on that, so maybe we can catch up a bit."

Rosberg, who scored his maiden Formula 1 win in China earlier this year, said he was satisifed with the result in Singapore, as he felt it was the maximum he could have achieved.

"It was the first time in a long time everything worked out for me. It was great. That's why I'm quite pleased with fifth place. It's a lot points.

"It was the best we could have done this weekend, which is nice and now we are going to Suzuka and hopefully we can build on this result there."
