Paul di Resta joins Jenson Button's management group

Force India driver Paul di Resta has joined Jenson Button's The Sports Partnership management stable

The Scot has been unrepresented since parting company with Anthony Hamilton and has joined the organisation formed by Button along with his management team, headed by Richard Goddard.

With the 26-year-old in demand for 2013, di Resta had recently admitted that the time was approaching for him to find new management and has been having informal discussions with Goddard for several months.

"It's no secret that I have been looking for new representation and I am delighted to have found this with The Sports Partnership," said di Resta in a statement issued today.

"They have been assisting me in a purely advisory capacity whilst I've been making my decision.

"Based on how that's gone and having seen what they've achieved with other clients, in and out of the sport of F1, it became clear that it was the right way to go.

"Having the right team behind me will allow me to focus on what's important, which is to continue to develop as a driver, further my career in F1 and ultimately fight it out for race wins and a world championship."

Goddard, who played a key role in Button's move to McLaren ahead of the 2010 season, underlined that di Resta's potential was behind the decision to take him on board.

"Paul is unquestionably a serious talent and a star of the future," said Goddard. "We've been helping him through the last couple of months and we're delighted that we will be continuing to work together moving forward.

"We will ensure Paul is able to simply concentrate on the job at hand and enable him to realise his full potential."
