Juncadella dominates second F3 practice at Zandvoort

Daniel Juncadella dominated the second and final practice session ahead of this weekend's Masters of Formula 3 at Zandvoort

In contrast to the opening session, track conditions were dry throughout, leading to a far more stable top order.

It was Juncadella who profited most in the dry, going clear in the opening five minutes before improving his own benchmark and eclipsing the rest of the field in the process.

The Prema man finished as the only driver to dip under the 1m33s mark, and would have ended one second clear were it not for Carlos Sainz Jr's Carlin Dallara-Volkswagen, which managed to get within nine tenths of the Spaniard.

Fortec's Alex Lynn beat Prema's Raffaele Marciello to third, although both were more than 1.2s down on Juncadella. Marciello also caused a brief red flag at the session's halfway point with a moment at Kumho, although he was able to return under his own steam.

Last year's F3 Masters victor Felix Rosenqvist (Mucke) finished fifth fastest, narrowly ahead of Prema's Michael Lewis and Carlin's Will Buller.

Local man Hannes van Asseldonk (Fortec) then headed an incredibly close group of five men all battling for eighth.

The Dutchman edged out compatriot Dennis van de Laar (Carlin) by just 0.015s, with morning pacesetter Pipo Derani (Fortec), Sven Muller (Prema) and Pascal Wehrlein (Mucke) all finishing within one tenth of each other.
