Alex Fontana heads second Spa Formula 2 practice session

Alex Fontana, Spa, 2012Alex Fontana was the quickest man in the second Formula 2 practice session at Spa, edging out Matheo Tuscher by just 0.036 seconds.

Times were slower than the morning session with all of the drivers concentrating on race runs, but the competition was tight, with 0.8s covering the top 13.

There was a brief stoppage halfway through, after Kourosh Khani crashed heavily at Radillon, and once the session resumed no one could usurp Fontana.

Hector Hurst showed strongly in third position, while Parthiva Sureshwaren continued his form from the morning session to end up fourth quickest.

Luciano Bacheta once again finished in fifth ahead of Daniel McKenzie and Kevin Mirocha, as Vittorio Ghirelli resumed his impressive debut display with eighth fastest.

The two race winners from the Nurburgring could only manage ninth and 10th, Mihai Marinescu outpacing Chrisopher Zanella.
