Mark Webber claimed a stunning victory, with a great move against Alonso in the closing stages of the race.
The race was shaped when Alonso chopped aggressively against the Australian into the first corner. From then on the race was on and the gap remained close with opposing strategy through the pitstops.
Alonso's second stop forced him onto softs, denting his late-race pace and allowing the Red Bull driver to close him down before making that decisive move.
Vettel and Massa will be pleased to collect solid points and Lotus also score a good haul, getting both cars into the top six. Problems for McLaren and the team will have to reflect on an eighth and 10th place finish and the Woking-based outfit now needs to play serious catch-up to Ferrari and Red Bull.
