Sebastian Vettel claims the race victory and the 2010 Formula 1 world championship, having started today's event third in the title race - an incredible achievement.
The race was shaped to some extent by the crash on the first lap when Schumacher was collected by Liuzzi's Force India. In fairness the Italian had nowhere to go, but the big news was Rosberg pitting and subsequently gaining ground on Alonso and Webber, who were then stuck in traffic after early stops.
Hamilton gave Vettel a race all day, but with the German powering towards victory, the result was increasingly favouring the young German. He crossed the line to send his team wild and the parties have begun all over Germany and Milton Keynes to celebrate his fine achievement.

Here is our report on a tough race for all the drivers in Abu Dhabi:
Vettel wins championship and race
Vettel wins championship and race
Vettel is Germany's second Formula 1 world champion. We think you can guess who he follows in this achievement ...
The young German scores back to back race victories for the first time with this result in Abu Dhabi, following on from Interlagos last weekend.
Vettel only led the championship once, but at the most important time - the end of the final race, emulating James Hunt in 1976 and John Surtees in 1964.
The champagne sprays on the podium with Button and Hamilton giving the new champion a deserved shower.
Button collects his trophy after a fine run to third place to wrap up his first season for McLaren.
Lewis Hamilton receives his award for second place in today's race. The Briton fought hard but was ultimately unable to catch Vettel.
Helmut Marco picks up the constructors' award for Red Bull as the team celebrates its dominance of the 2010 season.
He kisses the trophy and holds it aloft.
Sebastian Vettel takes the winner's trophy on the biggest day of the young German's career.
Vettel is choking back the tears as the anthem concludes.
The Austrian national anthem follows for today's winning constructor - Red Bull Racing.
Vettel leaps onto the top step of the rostrum and can hardly believe it, as the German national anthem rings out at Yas Island.
Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marco is on hand to congratulate Vettel and join him on the podium.
Vettel punches the air with delight as he heads off to be weighed.
Outgoing champion Button congratulates Vettel as the German finally comes out on top of the points after a sensational season.
Three drivers retired from the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix:
Timo Glock pulled off in the late stages of the race,
Michael Schumacher was lucky to escape injury when Tonio Liuzzi rammed him head on at Turn 6 on lap 1.

Vettel is holding his head in his hands as he draws into parc ferme as the world champion.
Sutil was 13th with Kobayashi 14th, Buemi 15th, Hulkenberg 16th, Kovalainen 17th, di Grassi 18th, Senna 19th, Klien 20th and Trulli in 21st.
Repalys pick up Alonso gesturing to Petrov after the race in what are sure to be controversial scenes.
The emotions are raw for Vettel as he says "Thank you boys. Unbelievable. Thank you, I love you!" on the radio.
Alguersuari finishes ninth and Massa claims the final point in 10th. Heidfeld is out of the points in 11th with Barrichello 12th.
There is sheer delight on the Red Bull pitwall as the title win is celebrated in jubilant style.
Webber also stopped early and it didn't work out for the Australian as he finishes eighth - with his team-mate taking the title.
Alonso trails home in sixth and the title dream is over for the Spaniard. Ferrari's strategy will be questioned with that costly early stop
Kubica also profited from a fine Renault strategy of starting on hard tyres, finishing fifth - ahead of a great drive from team-mate Petrov.
A brilliant strategy from the Mercedes team, pitting under the safety car, gives Rosberg a fine fourth place.
Button completes his first year with McLaren with a fine drive to third.
Lewis Hamilton takes a battling second for McLaren but will be disappointed that a chance to battle for the lead slipped away behind Kubica
Another storming drive from the German makes him Formula 1's youngest ever champion as he clinches both titles for Red Bull.
