Not the most spectacular race ever, but you try convincing the tifosi of that right now. The scenes at Monza are amazing as the whole of Italy celebrates a fantastic Ferrari victory, which puts Alonso right back in the hunt for the world title.
The race was shaped at the start when Button got a great launch to claim the inside for the first chicane. From there, it became a fascinating tactical battle, like we used to see in the early 1990s before refueling was allowed.
The pitstops decided the race as Alonso stayed out a couple of laps longer than the Briton and crucially emerged ahead, to claim a wonderful home victory for the Scuderia.
Lewis Hamilton will leave Monza this evening gutted after his clash with Massa, while Red Bull made the best of a bad job with fourth and sixth. It's a full-on five-man fight once again and the fun will continue towards the end of the season.
