Bruce Martin has been covering motorsport in the United States since the 1981 Michigan 500 CART race when he was the sports intern at the Toledo Blade. After he was graduated from Indiana University in 1982, Bruce began covering NASCAR at The Gaston Gazette in North Carolina. Since then, Bruce has provided motorsport coverage for outlets including United Press International, ESPN SportsTicker, PA SportsTicker, ESPN.com, SI.com, FOXSports.com, ESPN Radio, FOX Sports Radio, National Speed Sports News and SPEED SPORT Magazine. He began covering the United States scene for Autosport in 1996 and resumed this role in 2016 after a brief absence.
