WRC Rally Argentina: Kris Meeke's lead over Mads Ostberg shrinks
Kris Meeke's Rally Argentina lead dwindled to just over half a minute following a spin and a subsequent cautious stage on Saturday morning
Although Meeke continues to lead team-mate Mads Ostberg in a Citroen one-two, he was only eighth fastest on leg two's first two stages.
He had a spin on the Capilla del Monte to San Marcos test and then drove conservatively on the following San Marcos to Characato test.
Ostberg therefore eroded the Northern Irishman's lead from 1m08.4s at the start of the day to just 32.6 seconds after the morning loop.
Jari-Matti Latvala holds third, but only by a much-reduced 14s margin thanks to an off on Characato that allowed Dani Sordo to close in.
The Hyundai driver had been set to produce the best time on the stage, but a mistake under braking for a hairpin in the final miles cost him 10s.
Elfyn Evans holds fifth after M-Sport's appeal to have his time adjusted for sitting in dust behind Thierry Neuville on Friday was not heard.
Volkswagen's delayed drivers dominated the loop on outright pace.
Team-mates Sebastien Ogier and Andreas Mikkelsen, both running under Rally2 after retiring on Friday, took a stage win each, but they remain 25 and 34 minutes off the lead respectively.
