Former Champ Car race winner Michel Jourdain is hoping to secure a drive in the World Touring Car Championship next year.
The Mexican tested a SEAT Leon earlier this week, but he is confident that a deal will come together.
"I believe that I have good chances to join SEAT for their 2007 campaign and I am very motivated," he said. "However, there are still some things to be defined and the final decision is up to SEAT Mexico."
Jourdain tested the car in Calafat earlier this week, and he was impressed with the Spanish machine.
The 33-year-old is not a complete stranger to tin-top racing, as he attempted a switch from Champ Car to NASCAR with little success in 2005.
SEAT's attack has already been bolstered by confirmation that Roberto Colciago will race a Leon for SEAT Sport Italia in the championship next year.
