Cupra driver Mikel Azcona hailed an “amazing” weekend after claiming two WTCR podiums and victory in Pure ETCR at his Zengo Motorsport squad’s home circuit of the Hungaroring.

Mikel Azcona became the first two-time PURE ETCR winner with a dominant drive on Sunday at the Hungaroring that set up a five-way final-round title shoot-out for the all-electric touring car series.

Santiago Urrutia became the eighth different winner from eight races in the 2021 World Touring Car Cup with victory at the Hungaroring, which lifted him to second in the standings.

Mikel Azcona was the man to beat on Saturday as the Spaniard ended the opening day of Pure ETCR competition with a pair of Battle wins and a perfect score at the Hungaroring.
