Yvan Muller quickest in Puebla test
Reigning champion Yvan Muller set the quickest time in the first session of this weekend's World Touring Car round at Puebla in Mexico today
The Frenchman's best lap of the 30-minute test session, a 1:39.020, was 1.8 seconds faster than his SEAT team-mate Jordi Gene's pole position time at the circuit in 2008.
Following SEAT's domination of the opening event of the season at Curitiba in Brazil two weeks ago, the BMWs have at least started this weekend in touch with Andy Priaulx and Augusto Farfus setting the second and third best times of today's session.
The remaining four SEATs followed, broken up by Felix Porteiro's independent BMW in sixth place. Tom Coronel completed the top 10 in his independent SEAT just behind Alex Zanardi's BMW.
Chevrolet's trio of drivers filled 12th to 14th places in the new Cruze, ahead of Jorg Muller in the final works entry in 15th.
There will be two more free practice sessions tomorrow, ahead of the afternoon's qualifying session.
