Yokohama will continue as the tyre supplier to the World Touring Car Championship until at least the end of 2015
The championship announced on Thursday that the Japanese manufacturer, which has been its lone rubber partner since 2006, has extended its contract for a further three years.
The WTCC's general manager, Marcello Lotti, said: "All I can say is: congratulations to Yokohama. Since they began to supply the control tyre, they have always been extremely supportive to the championship.
"Firstly as a competent and reliable technical partner, but also for their significant effort in promoting the championship worldwide, which helped us to establish events in crucial countries such as Japan, China and USA.
"To have them on our side for three more years is an invaluable benefit."
