Priaulx hails 'dream' home result
Andy Priaulx has said that his victory in race two at Brands Hatch on Sunday was a dream result
The reigning World Touring Car champion took advantage of the reverse grid to put himself in position to take his first victory at the Kent circuit, where he threw away a victory in 2006.
The result also moved Priaulx 12 points clear of Augusto Farfus in the championship, with just two double header rounds remaining.
"Race two was a dream," said Priaulx. "I love being able to drive and win in front of my supporters, friends and family.
"Last year was tough for me, and the year before at Silverstone I was leading until the last lap (when he suffered a puncture), so I'm very happy."
Priaulx added that the result meant more to him because he had struggled so much at the start of the weekend, when he could only qualify 10th on the grid.
"I've had a lot of bottled up emotion all weekend," he said. "After underperforming in qualifying, we found the problem and then the car was quick.
"To swallow my pride and drive around for eighth place was hard, but we did it, and this was a brilliant weekend for everybody in the team."
