Priaulx cool on lack of wins
Andy Priaulx has admitted that he is more focused on putting together a consistent season than chasing race victories this year
The reigning World Touring Car champion moved back into the lead of the championship at Pau last weekend, but he has not won a race so far this season.
"I'd love to win a race but the championship means more to me than a win," he said. "This has been a tremendous weekend for me.
The two-time champion chased race two winner Augusto Farfus at Pau, as he scored his fourth podium finish of the season.
"My car was really good and I reckon if had been on the front row for race two I could have won," he added, "but winning this championship is all about consistency."
But despite not taking a victory in the first four weekends of the year, Priaulx is certain that a win will come soon.
"I'd like to say a slow start to the season was the plan but it wasn't," he said. "Now we are more competitive, a victory will come because I know I can do it."
Priaulx leads Farfus by two points in the championship with seven double-header rounds remaining.
