Muller looks to WTCC

Former BTCC champion Yvan Muller has admitted he has had talks with Team ORECA about driving a Seat Toledo Cupra in next year's World Touring Car Championship, according to this week's Motorsport News

The French team confirmed last week that they are running a car for Le Mans 24-hours winner Stephane Ortelli in the next three rounds of the WTCC, and Muller says the team have been in contact with him too.

"There is no contract, only a proposal," said Muller. "I have had a few proposals. I know the boss Hugues de Chaunac, because he gave me my first touring car drive in a BMW in 1994. They asked me to do the last three rounds of the WTCC season but it clashes with the BTCC so Ortelli is doing it.

"I've only had talks with them, but I have only had talks with people about next season so far. There are no deals on the table. People who say they know what I am doing next season know far more than me."

Muller also confirmed he has yet to receive an offer from his current Vauxhall team about next season.
