Muller: I'm driving better than ever

Yvan Muller believes he is now driving better than he has at any point in his career, after winning the World Touring Car Championship for the second time

The 41-year-old Frenchman added his success with Chevrolet this year to his 2008 title with SEAT, and has only finished outside the top two in a championship once since 2000.

Looking back over the last decade, Muller reckons he is at his peak right now.

"At least there is one advantage to age," he said, "to take the experience. I am over 40 years old but I'm fitter than I was when I was 25. Mentally I am still like I was then, but I have much experience in this time so I am better than I ever was.

"When I see young drivers, they want to be fast every time - even in practice sessions. I don't care about practice. Qualifying is more important but it's not the most important. The race is most important so I focus on the race. These are the things I learned with experience."
