FIA GTs: Lister promises to attack

The Lister Storm squad lost its win at the previous race at Zolder, Belgium, due to a technical illegality, and Campbell-Walter has fallen 19 points behind series leaders Christophe Bouchut and Jean-Philippe Belloc in the Labre Competition Chrysler Viper. He will share his Storm this weekend with ex-Formula Nippon champion Tom Coronel.

"We just have to go for an all-out attack," he told Autosport's sister publication Motorsport News. "We are now the underdogs. We have got to hope that we have no problems and win the race, and where they finish is in the lap of the Gods.

"We should have won four of the five races, but we haven't and now we need to win everything from here on," he added.

The British team has decided not to enter the following round, the Spa 24 Hours, but the Labre team is expected to contest the event, as the Viper has a proven track record in round-the-clock racing and they contested this year's Le Mans event. Campbell-Walter is not so sure his rivals can take advantage, however.

"Le Mans takes a lot out of the team, the car and the drivers," he said. "I bet they are knackered. Spa is harder on the car [than Le Mans] and is worth double points, but we are not going and just have to hope they don't finish."

Labre team owner Jack Leconte has claimed his team is ready for battle this weekend.

"There is always a lot of work to do after a 24 hour race [at Le Mans] and this time we had an accident as well, but we will be there," he said. ''However, with 100kg penalty weight, and considering the nature of the track, we will not be able to do much in qualifying, so we will concentrate on the race set-up and try to get as many points as possible. We've just got to keep scoring points and try to keep our lead."
