Farfus fastest in first Valencia practice

The Brazilian was just 0.033s faster than Alain Menu's Chevrolet, with his BMW team-mate Andy Priaulx third.

Rob Huff jumped to fourth with his final flying lap of the session, while the leading SEATs of Gabriele Tarquini and Tiago Monteiro completed the top six.

Championship leader Yvan Muller was seventh, with the SEATs of Norbert Michelisz, Jordi Gene and Tom Coronel rounding out the top 10.

Marc Carol was the best of the independent class runners in 12th on his return to the series for a one-off prize drive with SEAT.

Darryl O'Young was first of the regular independents in 13th.
