ETCC Super Touring race 2: Tarquini at the double

The JAS-run Honda Accord ace started last on the reversed grid, but had passed 12 cars by the time he got to Stowe corner on the opening lap. Eric Cayrolle (BMW) led at the conclusion of the first lap, with Angelo Lancelotti (Alfa), series leader Nicola Larini (Alfa) and Tarquini in tow behind.

Neal was punted on to the grass by Sergio Sambatoro's Audi at Club and lost a heap of time and places, dropping to tenth.

Tarquini nerfed his way past Larini at Club and then outbraked Lancelotti at Priory for second. He soon caught Cayrolle, and outdragged the multiple French champion on the Hangar Straight.

Fabrizio Giovanardi showed there was no team orders in the Alfa squad by barging his way past Larini for third, before drafting past Cayrolle on the Hangar Straight. Larini also got past Cayrolle, who was further demoted by a charging Neal.

Neal then caught right up with Larini, but ran out of laps to try and get on the podium for the second time of the day. Fabrice Walfisch was fifth in the second JAS Honda, while Cayrolle lost sixth on the penultimate lap when Sandro Sardelli's Nissan Primera passed him at Club.
