Japanese racer Masaki Kano, whose links with Team Engstler date back to 2007, is set to race a two-litre, normally-aspirated BMW 320si at Suzuka on 21 October.

Joseph Rosa-Merszei will compete in his home event in Macau, the season finale. Like Kano, Rosa-Merszei has made sporadic WTCC appearances with Engstler in previous years.

Engstler team manager Kurt Treml confirmed that negotiations with potential third drivers for the penultimate meeting in China are ongoing.

"We still have to finalise a deal, and in the next weeks we will evaluate the proposals," said Treml.

The 320si will be entered alongside Engstler regulars Franz Engstler and Charles Ng's BMW 320 TCs.
