Alfa Dominate Again in Race 2
Alfa Romeo continued their domination of Turkey's World Touring Car Championship fixture at Istanbul Park in the second of the two 10-lap races today
Gabriele Tarquini took victory from teammate Augusto Farfus Jr to make amends for the late-race punctures that robbed them of second and fourth places in the opening race.
Farfus trailed Tarquini throughout the race and then outbraked the leader going into the final left- right-left complex on the last lap. He then lifted off on the straight to allow Tarquini to take the victory.
The final podium position went to Ravaglia BMW driver Alex Zanardi, a position he held right through the race after starting from the second row of the grid.
James Thompson claimed fourth ahead of Dirk Muller and first race winner Fabrizio Giovanardi.
Andy Priaulx, who finished third in the opening race, faded over the course of the 10 laps and finished ninth behind Alain Menu's Chevrolet.
The results have brought Giovanardi to within four points of the Championship lead. Priaulx now leads on 74 points, one ahead of Dirk Muller, with Giovanardi on 70.
