Gabriele Tarquini moves to Lada WTCC team for 2016 after Honda exit
Gabriele Tarquini will remain on the World Touring Car Championship grid in 2016 after securing a deal to race for Lada
The 2009 world champion was left without a seat for the coming season after he was jettisoned from his drive with Honda at the end of last year, having spent three years with the marque.
But the Italian has been handed another opportunity with Lada after agreeing to drive one of the Russian manufacturer's TC1 Vestas in the WTCC this year.
Tarquini takes one of the places vacated by Briton Rob Huff, who last month moved in the opposite direction to Honda in part of an extended line-up for the JAS Motorsport-run outfit.
Sportscar ace Nick Catsburg keeps his seat with Lada after a successful transition to the WTCC part-way through the 2015 season.
The squad's line-up is completed by Frenchman Hugo Valente, who scored three podiums on his way to ninth in the WTCC standings last year in a Campos Racing Chevrolet Cruze.
