The Honda car will lose 30 kilos of ballast for the upcoming World Touring Car Championship races in Porto.
The Civics of Tiago Monteiro, Gabriele Tarquini and Norbert Michelisz had been carrying 40kg of ballast since the cars locked out the podium in Slovakia.
Since then, the works duo have only taken one podium finish.
"Our car is quite reactive to the weight, specifically the distribution," Monteiro told AUTOSPORT. "We're struggling to find a way around it."
The Hondas, however will be 30kg lighter in the next round in Portugal. The Lada Granta will also benefit from a weight reduction, losing 20 kilos.
The Chevrolet Cruzes will still carry the maximum compensation weight of 40kg, while the BMW 320 TC will carry 20kg more than in the last race in Russia.
