Chevrolet drivers expect WTCC fight to stay clean in spite of being free agents in 2013

World Touring Car Championship title challenger Rob Huff does not expect the inter-team rivalry between the three factory Chevrolet drivers to get physical later in the season, in light of the manufacturer's withdrawal from the category at the end of 2012

The dominant works Chevrolet Cruze men carry a huge advantage in the drivers' standings. Huff and team-mate Alain Menu are battling to win their first WTCC drivers' title, but are 18 and 35 points respectively behind reigning world champion Yvan Muller with five rounds remaining.

And while all three drivers are currently looking for work in 2013, Huff reckons they will keep it clean in their more-or-less exclusive battle for the title.

"I am not expecting anything to become more aggressive between Yvan, Alain and myself," said Huff. "It shouldn't do, we've all got a job to do. But let's see, if it does, I won't be the one making the first moves."

Fastest in Saturday morning's opening free practice session, Muller shared Huff's assessment.

"I will tell you if the races get more aggressive at the end of the season!" said Muller. "I certainly hope not. For me, my way to drive will be no different, but let's see if that is the case or not."

Fourth in the drivers' standings ROAL BMW driver Tom Coronel trails Muller by 145 points.
